Camping Equipment Checklist
for Troop 806 Scouts

For every campout: 

- Backpack or Duffel Bag (with all your gear inside or attached!)
- Sleeping bag in waterproof stuff sack
- Full uniform (worn going and returning from all trips)
- Troop T-shirt
- Work clothes (clothes you can get dirty!)
- Extra socks and underwear
- Waterproof boots / extra sneakers
- Sweatshirt or light jacket
- Flashlight (with new batteries)
- Poncho or raincoat
- Folding knife
- Mosquito repellent (non-aerosol)
- Scout handbook, pen and paper
- Toiletries (soap, towel, etc.)
- 7 x 9 foot 6 mil groundcloth
- 1 qt canteen or water bottle
- 50 feet 1/8 inch nylon rope
- Butane lighter or matches in waterproof cantainer
- Knife, Fork and Spoon
- Plate, Bowl, Cup
- 4 tent stakes

When we are backpacking, you will need the
following additional items:

- 2 pairs of adjustable straps for backpack
- Poncho (big enough to cover you and your pack)
- Spoon, bowl and cup (leave the rest at home)
- Pack cover or large garbage bag

Seasonal items:

- waterproof boots
- warm winter coat
- thermal underwear, tops and bottoms
- warm hat
- gloves
- Swim trunks

Optional items:

- Air mattress or foam pad
- Sunglasses
- Inexpensive watch
- Butane stove
- Camera
- Compass

Please don't bring:

- Radios, TV’s & electronic games
- Fireworks
- Sheath knives
- Liquid fuel stoves or lanterns
- No aerosol or glass items, please!
