Kinus 2006

The 2006 Kinus was held October 27-29, 2006 at Camp Strake.  Attended by 200 Girl, Cub and Boy Scouts, parents and siblings, the two day program's theme was Earth First.  Scouts had the opportunity to participate in classes on ecology,  and work toward badges on Art, Collections, Fingerprinting, Music and Space Exploration.  Rabbi Steven Morgan served as chaplain for the event and led services Friday evening accompanied by Janice Rubin on guitar and Cantor Diane Dorf.  Saturday morning services were led by Rabbi Morgan and Cantor Dorf with the participation of many of the Scouts.  Following Saturday night Havdalah we were treated to a large campfire with skits and songs.  A great big thank you is extended to Camp Director Lisa Stone, Program Director Steve Shapiro, kitchen coordinator Randy Plost, and the entire Kinus 2006 committee for their hard work making this a very successful event.  Pictures from the Kinus can be found in the photo gallery.  The next Kinus is being planned for Fall 2008.  Stay tuned.
